Regional Indicators Dashboard Summer Workshop
Date: August 21, 2017
Time: 8:30 AM - 11:45 AM
*Registration is complimentary
Three years of Regional Dashboard data shows MSP has much to gain from breaking down the racial, gender, and geographic boundaries that prevent our region from realizing its full potential. This workshop is an opportunity to roll up our sleeves and get specific about what “radical inclusion” could look like in MSP and detail how achieving breakthrough inclusion would benefit our people, our communities and our economy.
The event will feature a panel discussion outlining how we move toward radical inclusion. Hear from panelists:
Tawanna Black – Executive Director, Northside Funders Group
Tom Fisher – Director, Minnesota Design Center
Maykao Hang – President and CEO, Amherst H. Wilder Foundation
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions focused on identifying tangible steps that could accelerate innovative efforts, including:
- Make It. MSP. – Improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace by using the insights from over 1200 professionals of color in our region.
- Creating ConnextMSP – A new pipeline from experience to employment for young, diverse talent in our region: Itasca Project / Minneapolis Foundation / Xcel Energy Foundation
- Creating a new regional Center for Economic Inclusion – A bold idea to leverage the strength of ALL sectors in new ways to build a regional economy that works for everyone: Northside Funders Group
This is a cross-sector conversation. Leaders and analysts from companies, government, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education are encouraged to participate.
